Some businesses begin with an idea. Ours began generations ago.

Our grandparents built their own furniture business. Our parents continued the entrepreneurial journey in a different direction.

Growing up, Richard and I were surrounded by products, materials and samples and business was always part of the conversation. We heard about how things were made and how businesses were built.

From an early age, we both shared an interest in business. During university, we began thinking seriously about the future: what if we built something of our own?

That idea became Ria & Richard, founded in Stockholm in August 2024.

For me, building Ria & Richard has also been a way to bring together hobbies I’ve always enjoyed - drawing, photography and creating things. It has been incredibly exciting, but it has also challenged us in ways we never expected. 

Two years later, we’re still learning, exploring, making mistakes and figuring things out as we go. And maybe that is part of the beauty of building something from the heart.

We hope our story might encourage you to dream a little bigger and perhaps build something you believe in too.
